Week 2: Brainstorming ideas

(starter post)

Week 2 and I've already stumbled into a hard-to-do project. Almost skipped it but I figured I shouldn't give up so soon :D
At first I thought, lucky me, I have nothing to brainstorm about as I always know what to write about: the blog is supposed to be a collection of my musings on the books I read so as long as I read books I'll never run out of things to write on the blog. Yay, assignment accomplished.

But. I then remembered I do have something to brainstorm about (and did, with no visible result): ever since buying this domain (kaysbookshelf.com) I've been thinking of ways to add more value to it, to make it more useful to people. So far the only idea I have had was to create a (small and ugly) book blog directory (http://directory.kaysbookshelf.com ), that is on the backburner right now, after I have discovered there are, in fact, some book blog directories out there (I thought mine was the first!), all of them quite good. I still have great plans for it but I kinda lack the time to put them into practice.

After thinking of other ideas for a few days and not finding any (yeah, that's how imaginative I am) I kinda gave that up for the time being. Nevertheless this is probably a good opportunity for me to think some more and maybe find some more ideas (or at least one). Watch this space for further developments (a.k.a. I plan to write the ideas I hope I'll come up with here :D )
  • make a small list / directory of sites offering free legal e-books (I'm always on the lookout for free ebooks so I might as well log my finds somewhere)
  • make a page listing my favorite books  <--- now that I think about it I've been wanting to do this one for a while now  :)  (perhaps make it a monthly feature? )
  • create a F.A.Q. page about the books I read (looking at the Google searches that have brought people on my page I always find some questions I know the answers of but am not certain are clearly included in the review  :D )
  • make a challenge directory, listing all the reading challenges I know of (or only the ones I participate in?)
  • add a new site?blog? with what's new in the literary world
  • small directory of book lists? (such as "1001 books to read in a lifetime")

Got comments? They are welcome on my blog, Kay's Bookshelf.
