( Starter post) I am not very good at setting goals as I usually get sidetracked and very rarely reach them. I shall try to make a short list though (mostly because I love the idea of setting tangible goals despite my being really bad at it). Here's what I would like to happen to my blog & I in 2009 (completely random order): - read over 100 books ( = have over 100 posts)
- receive a few books for review (I am not greedy although I love the very idea of free books; the reason why I have this as a goal is that it is very hard for me to receive review books since I live overseas -- when I do receive one is a sign that my blog and my reviews are very appreciated (enough to be worth the extra costs) and this makes me happy)
- create my own book related template <--- that is a very hard one as my design skills are so not up to par (or at least find a nice one online, other than Literary Life)
- earn say $10 from Amazon book sales <--- I added this one jokingly as I really don't care about the money part (not that they hurt, of course), but, after all, the "conversion rate" from viewers to buyers is a measurable item too; somehow I doubt I'll get the $10 but I plan to have fun watching my Amazon account balance not growing (as I did this year, although to be noted this year I did make a bit over $4 :P )
- I admit I could have a bit more comments on each post, but I have trouble choosing an actual number to aim at -- say minimum 5? <-- right now this seems like very hard to achieve in the course of a single year but let's be optimistic, some posts so have more than 5 comments even now (and it's probably worth noting that the vast majority of them have none -- let's hope that this is going to change in the future)
- my traffic levels are so bad right now that practically any change can only be an improvement -- I am ashamed to say an actual number here so I won't (but I do have it in mind hee hee)
I guess that's it for now. Right now I am almost looking forward for the year to end to find out how off I was (or was I? :D ) with my estimations. Yay! Got comments? They are welcome on my blog, Kay's Bookshelf. |
